Have Beetle and Ms Buxley ever been intimate? They seem to have a very
good relationship.

Why would Beetle want to make whoopie with Ms Buxley when Miss Blips
is only a desk away? Blips’ 1950s style bullet bra makes me go ‘hubba
hubba’ every time!!

Truly, you people frighten me.
Anyhoo, I remember, way back in the halcyon days of the early 80′s,
reading an article about how Mort Walker had come under fire for
dressing Miss Buxley too scantily, and that he’d promised to tone down
her image and make her much more demure. Even at my impressionable,
early teen, not-yet-too-conservative age, I found this bit of early
political correctness to be utterly ridiculous. My thought at the time
was "*This* is what people are upset about? A cartoon character in a
miniskirt?"
Even now, in my more cynical, older state, I still find this sort of
thing laughable, but also a bit repugnant. Nothing like being told how
to think or act. In retrospect, I wish Mort would’ve told his
detractors to bugger off, and started having Miss Buxley show up to
work in a bikini.

You know what she needs? Her own maquette. I just can’t decide
if it should be done in this fashion:

or this one:

Note that the artist has thoughtfully made her barefoot.

Oh, god, please tell me the sculptor has 1425 of these stacked up in
his garage.
But don’t tell Mencken. He’d prefer the entire run were sold out, if
only to prove his point.
