Almost exactly a year ago, I typed this in part of a post to a
long-forgotten thread:
"Tiny old Max is in the hospital now, kidneys badly deteriorated.
Prognosis isn’t good."
Tiny old Max proved pretty tough, though. A combination of daily
subcutaneous fluids and his own nails-tough orneriness kept him going
strong for almost exactly a year. That he would outlive icons like Chris
Clarke’s Zeke or Mike Peterson’s Nellie Bly would have been inconceivable
to me a year ago — but of course it’s not a contest.
He slipped away three hours ago, nose against my left wrist, cheek against
my forearm, gently wafted away by an i.v. barbituate cocktail administered
by his loving vet.

So, whatever happened in the storyline about the baby? Just thought I’d
ask.

Three words: I. Give. Up.

idea)

Sadly, I don’t think this one’s a joke. But I bet it’ll go over the
political class’ collective head.

Best arc ever! I’ve been LOL all week. Today was the bomb! (no pun
intended)

Surely no spoiler space needed by this time…..
I’m confused.
Deanna says they could "do quite well if the just severed the
property", an apparent reference to earlier hesitations about so much
land surrounding the house.
So Dad/John wonders to himself, "Where would I put my TRAINS?!!"
So, one more time: Is the proposal for John and Elly to get the Stibbs
property, or for Mike and Dee? If the latter–which is what I believe
we have been reading all this time–then what the hell is John doing
making plans for an expansion of the FB&FW Railway?!?!?
(Side note: For the few that care, the real-life husband of Lynn
Johnston, Rod Johnston, has retired from his dentistry and is now a
partner in a company that sells garden railway supplies, Riding
Railkits: look at the obvious dot-com for that business name if you
want to see the real thing, including his own Blackfly Junction
RR…….)
This is a funny strip where the board games get all blended and the
kids make that work to their advantage.
